Automobiles in Germany's Town Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Officers reported they were alerted by a individual who found a car in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Roughly 50 cars have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Cars, walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Officers say they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.

The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police say early analysis indicate the fluid was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are not yet informed of any harm in association with the occurrence," they stated.

Local authorities said they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the community for tips.

A high-ranking representative said the incident left him speechless and required to be addressed promptly.

"This event hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right attack half a decade ago," he posted on social media, recalling the murder of nine people by a gunman aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
